The Difference Between Community Class and a TV Class

May 12, 2021

At Body Alive, our community doesn’t leave anyone behind. Students of ALL levels are encouraged to light the fire within themselves in a Cycle, Pilates, Barre, Sculpt, Bounce, Fusion, or Challenge Class!

Whether it’s online or in-studio, the supportive and talented instructors at Body Alive want you to find the best version of yourself and challenge your limits.

Body Alive has highly talented instructors and staff who provide an environment where you can leave your stress behind. We believe that fitness is for everyone and that all students can benefit from moving their bodies – becoming stronger, more flexible, less stressed, and more focused.

We offer many different classes, but we often get asked about the main difference between a Community Class and a TV Class. Below you will find a breakdown of the differences between Body Alive’s Community Classes and TV classes.

What is a Community Class?

In a Community Class at Body Alive, our newest instructors lead fitness-based yoga classes focused on learning basic fundamental movements.

The instructors that lead Community Classes are relatively new teachers, or they recently started teaching a class format that’s new to them. You’ll often see Community Classes labeled as “free” when they’re first introduced to the schedule.

Community Classes are designed with beginners in mind and are perfect for students who are new to Body Alive. If you are new to heated yoga, fitness classes, or Body Alive overall, our instructors are ready to get you going gently and safely to make sure you get a powerful workout! All levels are welcome; Body Alive instructors are delighted to assist and provide modifications for beginners.

Community Class Prices

It must be known attending Community Classes is less expensive than a single drop-in class which is around $18. Make sure to check the schedule as the prices for Community Classes at Body Alive vary depending on the location. Below find the prices for Body Alive Community Classes:

  • Kenwood, Oakley – $9
  • Crestview Hills – $8
  • Mason – $7
  • Moon Valley/Phoenix: $7

If you see a free class on the schedule, here’s how to add it to your account:

  1. Select your home studio and add the free class credit to your cart.
  2. Visit the schedule and reserve your class.
  3. Get ready to sweat!

What are TV Classes?

Body Alive TV classes are pre-recorded, filmed classes from your favorite Body Alive instructors!

TV Classes are presented in an empty Body Alive studio, so you access your favorite workouts, from your favorite instructors, without them being physically in the room with you! This format allows us to supplement our current class offerings and provide our members with even more chances to get their sweat on in the hot room. If you feel intimidated by walking into a room full of experienced members, TV classes are for you! TV Classes are filmed with beginners in mind and are offered between traditional class times, so they are usually not as crowded.

TV classes feature Body Alive staples like Hot Power Yoga, Hot Mat Pilates, Hot Body Sculpt, and Hot Body Challenge. Members can access TV Classes on the website here. For a schedule of classes, view the calendar online.
