Immunity Boost- How Working Out is Key in Staying Healthy

May 20, 2021

There’s no quick fix to staying fit and healthy.

Many people believe that converting to a ‘healthy lifestyle’ sounds like a long, tedious process.

At Body Alive, we believe the more effort you put into staying healthy, the more positive effects you will begin to notice!

With the support of instructors dedicated to your success, Body Alive is here for you as you build your practice from the ground up. Feel free to leave your stress behind, and take a deep breath knowing you are in good hands on your journey to becoming a stronger, healthier, less stressed, and more focused version of YOU. Once you commit to pushing yourself, you will come out stronger, more confident, and feeling great!

Consistently working out is a KEY player in staying fit for the long term. Below find out more ways working out plays a crucial role in staying healthy.

The Secret to Better Health is Exercise

Whether you are a runner, dancer, or neither, involving some sort of physical activity in your everyday life will undoubtedly boost your immunity. Christopher Berger, PhD, CSCS, an exercise physiologist and clinical assistant professor at Arizona State University in Phoenix, sums it up: “Everything improves with exercise.”

Exercising daily for at least an hour is a great place to start, but the real key is finding a workout you enjoy. Yoga, Pilates, or cardio group fitness classes are all examples of exercises that not only have amazing health benefits, but they’re fun! Once you ache and ‘feel the burn’ in your muscles, your body is changing for the better.

Daily fitness has also been linked to better brain health and emotional well-being. And a study published in the journal Circulation found that exercise, even without weight loss, may help you live longer!

Before exercising, it’s essential to stay hydrated and prepare your body for what’s to come. But most importantly – try your best to ENJOY exercising!

Exercising Should Be Fun

If you dread every minute of your approaching treadmill exercise and hate it even more once you’re there – it’s time to find a more FUN way to approach training!

Fitness classes fill the gap between your low motivation and boring workouts. According to the CDC, when you work out with other people, you’re likely to:

  1. Feel More Motivated
  2. Be More Adventurous
  3. Be More Consistent

At Body Alive, we offer different fitness classes to improve your balance and strength, like Hot Power Yoga, Hot Mat Pilates, Barre, Bounce, Cycle, and cardio classes. This large variety of fitness classes allows members to explore new exercises, challenge themselves, and ultimately, SWEAT!

Sure, you can exercise online, or at home. Online fitness classes can be convenient, but sometimes you can be tempted to cut out early, or take more breaks than if you were in person working out with other people! Attending fitness classes in your community can be a great way to stay motivated and accountable for your fitness because working out with other people can often lead to harder and longer workouts.

Attend Community Fitness Classes

If you’re looking for a different kind of exercise with a twist – Attend a Hot Yoga or Hot Mat Pilates class, where the in-studio room temperature is set at 102 degrees with 40% humidity!

In a Body Alive Hot group fitness class, instructors guide you and your fellow member as you move through poses that will increase your stamina, strength, and flexibility. The instructors pair the movements with music and high temperatures to keep you motivated and engaged throughout the entire class.

Community fitness classes bring people together, and at Body Alive, we have a saying that: “Together we bring it ALIVE”. Our group fitness instructors cultivate a motivating and supportive atmosphere unlike any other. Always encouraging members to challenge themselves and put in a great workout!

Body Alive offers classes for every level, and beginners are encouraged to flow and grow along with us! If you are in the mood for a great sweat but without the heat, try a Barre, Body Fusion, or Cycle Alive class to get your heart pumping!
